Meeting scheduled; Sheri Weiner to speak about Bellevue
The Bellevue Harpeth Historic Association will meet on Monday, June 18 6:30 - 7:30 PM at the Bellevue Library. Sheri Weiner will be our speaker. All are welcome to attend. Please join us!!
BHHA Meeting February 27, 2017
Present: Evelyn Miles, Eileen Cartwright, Betty Matthews, Tina Jacobs, Paula Winters, Sanford Payton Paula Allen, Nina Tackett, Christine Browning.
Paula Allen called to order the meeting and passed out the agenda. The minutes were read and approved.. The treasurer reported a total of $9,145.82. Sanford discussed the status of the sign from the Southwell Company. The board has paid half for the sign and waiting for delivery to pay the rest. They will send a picture and Sanford will forward to us in email. Hoping to have it delivered and erected by the date of the Bellevue Picnic. The demo of the playground will be started after the Bellevue Picnic and construction going on through the fall.
Fund raising strategies were discussed. Paula Winter suggested we have a Go Fund Me Acct and PayPal as another way to fundraise. Paula Winters opened us a Go Fund Me Acct . during the meeting. Our goal for the Go Fund Me and PayPal accounts is $10,000.
There was a discussion of participating in the Community Foundation Big Pay Back. The board decided not to participate in that but to consider applying for a Community Foundation grant. We can have a link on our website where people can contribute directly.
Sanford can make a list of items we need for the cabin i.e.... shingle, etc... Educational flyers specifically for children. Paula A has been in contact with Lisa Helton a lawyer who specializes in cemetery law. The date being discussed is the 27th in the big room at the Bellevue Library - meeting to start at 6:00 with light refreshments. Chris suggested posting the information at various libraries.
We had discussion of the Friday night opening of the cabin which was tied to the Bellevue Farmers Markets. Paula W is going to communicate who is charge of the markets to see where they will be held. Next meeting will possibly be April 10th. 6 weeks before the unveiling.

FALL MEETING Our fall meeting was held on Monday September 26 6:00 PM and we welcomed Dr. Carole Bucy, professor of history at Vol State Community College and the Davidson County Historian speak to us. Her topic is very timely: “Davidson County Votes for President: A Historic Overview of Presidential Elections in Davidson County from Statehood to the Present.” |
